One&Co co-working space partners OMOTENASHI Selection to showcase Japanese craftsmanship and culture

One&Co is collaborating with “OMOTENASHI Selection” to exhibit select products that reflect the unique charms of Japanese culture. Started in 2015, OMOTENASHI Selection is an initiative that gathers beautifully crafted products and services from around Japan that reflect the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship and hospitality.

According to the official website, the yearly OMOTENASHI Selection Award is given to products and services that are recognized to be “overflowing with the unique charms of Japan that should be shared with the world”. Each item in the selection is chosen by a panel of judges made up of international residents of Japan, as well as Japanese specialists that include buyers, distributors and the media. Item quality, design, and functionality are key considerations of the judging process when determining level of craftsmanship and thought for the end user.

In partnership with OMOTENASHI Selection, One&Co has curated 10 items and will be displaying them at the coworking space, which sees a mix of both Japanese and international users. One&Co hopes that these products will act as a point of conversation and thought by giving individuals in Singapore a chance to interact with Japanese history, culture and art. This is especially so as overseas travel has become difficult due to the global Covid-19 situation. 

One&Co believes that the stories behind these items, from creation to fruition, could bring about greater inspiration and innovation. By introducing products and services that deeply reflect the traditional spirit of Japanese craftsmanship and hospitality, One&Co hopes that this will create a new platform bridging Singapore and Japan.
